How do you read? Traditional books or E-Reader?

I was downloading some books today and got to wondering how you ladies read? Traditional books or do you have an E-Reader and if so, what kind do you have?

I do a mix of both. If I find a book I want in the bookstore I go ahead and buy it because I will forever love the feel of a real book! Having said that, I also REALLY enjoy my Nook! It's nice to be able to hold it with one hand and push a button to turn the page, lol! Wow, I really sounded lazy right there, ha! I got my Nook last March and have read quite a few books on it. I also have an iPad but haven't read a book on that yet, I prefer the e-ink of the Nook, plus I don't like the backlight on the iPad.

The other day I picked up my Nook to read and the battery was dead. How funny to hear myself tell Billy I couldn't read because I needed to charge it's battery, lol!

Let's Talk Authors!

Hello everyone! Is everyone getting their copies of Goodnight Tweetheart? A few of us have read it already and we are chomping at the bit to get to talking about it....it is soooo good!!! I cannot wait to start really discussing it!

Speaking of waiting...we are getting close to having a new blog design here. Amber has been working behind the scenes with a designer. She is thinking that we will have a new look this week! I can't wait to see it!

So today let's talk authors. We all have our favorite ones!! First I need you to name ONE author who you buy regardless of what they release. I think that we all have one of those...it doesn't matter what the storyline is, you are going to buy that author's book. For this part of the question, I want you to list just a single author and tell us what it is about their writing that you love so much.

THEN, you can go on and wax poetic about as many other authors that you love as you would like to discuss. I think that we can have some fun discussions and all find some new authors today.

BTW, when you comment, you can check a box at the bottom of the comment box so that you receive all the comments from this blog post via your email. This is a GREAT way to keep track of how everyone responds!

Get chatting girls!

Time to talk reading!

Whoohooo! This is going to be such a fun group. Love all the intros that you all have posted. I think that we are still missing a couple, so please go back down to the post below and introduce yourself if you haven't done so already... ;o)

This IS a book group so we are going to start talking books!!

What is your favorite genre to read?

Do you mainly read fiction or nonfiction?

I think that since we are all here, we all like Chick lit/romance to certain degree, but what sub-genre do you enjoy most?
Here are just a few that I can think of, but there are so many:
*Historical
*contemporary
*military
*suspense
*gothic
*paranormal
*erotica
*sci fi

Besides Chick lit/romance, what other fiction genres do you enjoy reading?

We will be talking authors next question so save those answers...

Let's get to know each other!!

Good morning girls! We are just getting this all set up and are figuring it out along the way, but here is a mini-timeline for the way our first (and probably second) book are going to work...

I think that you all know that our book for February is Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medieros.

Because we want to give everyone ample time to be able to get the book into their hands, we are assuming that no one is going to have it until Feb. 1. Then you have 2 weeks to read it, because we are not going to have any book-specific questions until mid-Feb (probably Feb 14.) At that point, we will start having a discussion question about every other day until the end of the month. These questions/answers WILL have spoilers so be sure to have read your book before the discussions start. ;o)

But because we don't want our little blog here to remain inactive, we are going to start some discussions about books and life in general over the next month. Let's get to know each other! The main part of the discussions will take place in the comments so check them often!

So, for today, tell us about yourself! Leave us a comment about who you are and how you know Amber.

And WHOOHOOOO!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Amber for coming up with this group and idea!!!

Feb's book on sale!

Hey girls! I just wanted to let you know that our Feb selection, Goodnight Tweetheart, is a trade paperback so it retails for a bit more than a normal paperback. The retail price on it is $15, but right now barnesandnoble.com has it on sale for $9.29 which is a GREAT price! You can check it out HERE.

Also, here is the synopsis so that you know what the book is about. It looks to be a fun one:

Abigail Donovan has a lot of stuff she should be doing. Namely writing her next novel. A bestselling author who is still recovering from a near Pulitzer Prize win and the heady success that follows Oprah’s stamp of approval, she is stuck at Chapter Five and losing confidence daily. But when her publicist signs her up for a Twitter account, she’s intrigued. What’s all the fuss?

Taken under the wing of one of her Twitter followers, “MarkBaynard"—a quick witted, quick-typing professor on sabbatical—Abby finds it easy to put words out into the world 140 characters at a time. And once she gets a handle on tweets, retweets, direct messages, hashtags, and trends, she starts to feel unblocked in writing and in life. After all, why should she be spending hours in her apartment staring at her TweetDeck and fretting about her stalled career when Mark is out there traveling the world and living?

Or is he?

Told almost entirely in tweets and DMs, Goodnight Tweetheart is a truly modern take on a classic tale of love and loss—a Griffin and Sabine for the Twitter generation.
