Let the Clucking Begin!

Ok, chickies, let's start clucking! First, let's talk about Phoebe and Emma, as their relationship is  central to the plot. How much responsibility do you think Phoebe bears in regards to Emma's death? In what specific ways do you think their relationship affected Phoebe and her self-worth?

I'll post a new question tomorrow.

Thanks for clucking!

Whadya Think?

Okay, Chickies, just curious if A Vintage Affair is tickling your fancy. :) Do you like it? Not so much? Kinda, sorta, maybe? Do tell! (Shh..no specifics, though. We'll save details for later!)

I enjoyed it. I thought it was a bit slow at first, but then I was hooked.

So whadya think?

For August: A Vintage Affair

Hi Girlies! I'm Vicki (aka Brittany's mom) and I'm hosting this month's book, A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolf. It's different than anything we've read thus far. It's kind of fun to mix things up a little!

"Every dress has a history. And so does every woman.
Phoebe Swift’s friends are stunned when she abruptly leaves a plum job to open her own vintage clothing shop in London—but to Phoebe, it’s the fulfillment of a dream, and her passion. Digging for finds in attics and wardrobes, Phoebe knows that when you buy a piece of vintage clothing, you’re not just buying fabric and thread—you’re buying a piece of someone’s past. But one particular article of clothing will soon unexpectedly change her life.
Thérèse Bell, an elderly Frenchwoman, has an impressive clothing collection. But among the array of elegant suits and couture gowns, Phoebe finds a child’s sky-blue coat—an item with which Mrs. Bell is stubbornly reluctant to part. As the two women become friends, Phoebe will learn the poignant tale of that little blue coat. And she will discover an astonishing connection between herself and Thérèse Bell—one that will help her heal the pain of her own past and allow her to love again." (Copied from the B&N website.)

It took me a little while to get hooked~but once I was, I couldn't put it down. Anyway, I hope you find a little time to sit back and relax and enjoy this book. Happy reading!

"Such a Pretty Fat"- Last One!

Ok, so I know it's technically August, but I'm on "summer time", so I'm going to post one last question to wrap things up!

Overall, what did you think? Would you recommend the book to someone? Will you be reading anything else by Jen Lancaster?

Thanks for letting me host this month! Can't wait to read out next book!!
